Animal Crossing is one of those titles that shouldn't be played as much as it is. For an unexplaniable reason alot of people wont put the controller down when they first start up this game. It does have alot of unlockable items, but nothing that will make you go "ahhhhh" or "oooohhh"
Concept: This is a simulation game where you do chores to get money to help build your house, as well as to furnish. Make friends, send them letters and presents, go fishing and bug catching. Dig up fossils. Basically what Nintendo did was mush together alot of boring stuff, while still managing to make it addicting for no apparent reason. 10/20
Graphics: Simply horrible, though a game like this doesn't really need good graphics. But these are so lackluster it might turn away alot of people. I got over them, but I'm going to review on what people come to expect in a game now. 1/5
Sound: In this game you can play music in a radio that you can put in your house. They are not appealing music. There are not many effects in the game at all, so I usually just play with mute on. 2/5
Gameplay: There is alot of things to do in this game as well as to earn, and for that I give it some credit. But most of it is very boring to do, running back and forth to finish your chores. Its like some puzzle you would find in a Survival Horror game: get an item and bring it to the right place. The fishing is stupid at best, with no real skill involved, with absolutely no depth to it either. The bug catching or the fossil collecting should've been replaced with something funner. Writing letters is a pain in the arse, since it can take quite a while. As much as I rip on the gameplay, it still deserves credit for how many things you can do in the game. 15/30
Entertainment/Replay Value: Its amazing how many hours alot of people play this game. Running back and forth, doing hardly anything, just to get a few measly credits, or to get some crappy furniture for your house. The only real exciting part of this game is unlocking some NES games, and that still isn't enough to make a game have a good replay value. 24/40
Overall: 5.25
If you get excited from playing this game, well, I have some advice for you. Go to the nearest mental institute and check in. How can you get excited by running from house to house, doing chores? In reality chores suck - why should they differ in virtual reality? Oh boy, I just unlocked a weighing scale for my house! Whoopie!
